Earlier in his career, as Vice-President for Professional Services of a National Consulting Firm, Jim directed the staff consultants in the Indiana Region as they provided the firm’s services to a wide variety of client companies. He has provided services to many of the leading companies in Central Indiana including Eli Lilly & Company, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Dow Elanco, Ford, GM, Lincoln Life Insurance, Amax Coal, American United life, L.S. Ayres, ADT, Security and Clarian Hospital to name a few.
He is a tenured Professor in the Graduate Business School at Indiana Tech University where he teaches Executive Leadership, Organizational Behavior and Change Management to MBA students and PhD students working on their doctorate in Global Leadership. He is the lead faculty member in this PhD program. He also serves as Executive Director of the University’s Leadership Development Center.
He will soon receive his Certification as a Professional Coach from the College of Executive Coaching, the only Graduate-level Coach Training Program affiliated with the American Psychology Association. He is a member of the International Coach Federation and expects to receive his designation as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) in the near future. He is certified or trained to provide more than a dozen assessment instruments and processes. He began his doctoral studies at Harvard University and received his Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington in Administrative Leadership and Industrial /Organizational Psychology.
He is a native Hoosier from Ft. Wayne who moved from Boston to Indianapolis in 1987. He serves on the Management and Audit Committee of United Way of Central Indiana and as Vice-President of the Consultant’s Forum a division of the Human Resources Association of Central Indiana.
